In 2018, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) held an international branding competition for the Qatar digital cluster, an initiative to make an impact on Qatar's emerging digital scene. For a chance to win QAR 25,000, MOTC is looking for creative individuals that will give their creative input in terms of naming, logo design, tagline, and basic universe such as typography and color selection, supporting graphical elements and basic adaptations.
Participants must create an imaginative and innovative brand identity that is attention-grabbing, sends ripples through the digital world and helps make an impact on sustainable economic growth and national innovation.
To keep all participants informed and inspired, we designed informative emails provided a constant stream of valuable content, including competition updates, design reminders, and curated design inspiration, keeping participants motivated and engaged throughout the journey.
We leveraged the Google Display Network to showcase eye-catching ads across popular Qatari news outlets and social media platforms. This strategic placement ensured maximum reach and attracted a diverse pool of talented designers to participate.
A comprehensive creative brief served as the foundation for the competition. It outlined brand goals, target audience insights, and key messaging, empowering participants to unleash their creativity and craft compelling brand identities.
